Senior Product Engineer

Overview

As a Product Engineer at Intercom, you will help scale a robust SaaS platform that powers millions of interactions daily. You’ll work within multidisciplinary product teams to build back-end and front-end systems, collaborating with designers, PMs, researchers, and data analysts. You’ll contribute to technical architecture, ship quickly to production, and mentor engineers to grow the team. This is a hands-on role shaping the Intercom platform with a focus on reliability, scale, and AI-enabled customer service features.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical plans and contribute to scalable architecture
• Write Ruby code integrating AWS, infrastructure, platform, and SaaS technologies
• Ship production changes on day one with frequent deployments
• Build with AI-powered developer tools to reduce friction and solve meaningful problems
• Grow the team by mentoring engineers and participating in hiring
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and researchers to deliver customer value

Key requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably with a SaaS product
• Deep knowledge of at least one high-level language (Ruby, Python, JavaScript, etc.)
• Experience collaborating with product teams and designers to deliver customer value
• Experience with distributed systems
• Proven track record of delivering impact to product or team
