Senior Cyber Analyst

Overview

As Senior Cyber Analyst, you will lead complex investigations and incident response across endpoints, networks, cloud, and identity platforms. You provide senior technical escalation, mentoring, and strategic direction to keep customer security postures strong and resilient. You will optimize security platforms and automation, coordinating with architects and cross-functional teams to improve detection and response. This role offers an opportunity to shape cyber capability in a customer-centric, collaborative environment and to drive meaningful improvements in public sector security.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigations and resolve complex cyber security incidents across multiple domains
• Act as senior escalation point for threat hunting, IR, and security investigations
• Develop and fine-tune detection rules, playbooks, and automation for SIEM/SOAR/EDR/XDR
• Own ongoing improvements of security tooling in collaboration with the Technical Architect
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and QA across the Cyber Services team
• Support governance and compliance activities (ISO27001, Cyber Essentials Plus) and produce post-incident reviews and threat intel briefs
• Collaborate with Service Delivery, Support, Projects, and Product teams to address security risks and service improvements

Key requirements

• Significant experience in a senior Cyber Security, SOC, Threat Detection, or Incident Response role
• Hands-on experience with investigating and responding to complex security incidents
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft security technologies (Sentinel, Defender XDR, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud, M365 Security, Entra ID)
• Experience designing, tuning, and optimizing SIEM, SOAR, EDR, and XDR solutions
• Strong understanding of threat hunting, attack techniques, threat intelligence, and vulnerability management
• Ability to translate technical findings into clear business outcomes and recommendations
• Experience mentoring technical teams and driving operational standards
