Overview

As Tax Manager in the UK Private Client Team, you will oversee private client tax compliance and advisory work, shaping a tailored mix of compliance and advisory services. You’ll work closely with Partners and Directors to deliver high‑quality personal and trust tax support to affluent clients and their entities. You’ll manage client portfolios, ensure deadlines, and contribute to process improvements in a collaborative, growth‑oriented firm. Responsibilities

  • Oversee delivery of high‑quality UK personal tax and trust compliance for private clients and related entities
  • Review self‑assessment, trust and estate tax returns and computations for individuals, trustees and partnerships
  • Provide personal tax advice on income tax, CGT and IHT to clients
  • Meet compliance deadlines and liaise with clients to obtain information timely
  • Act as primary client contact on tax matters and maintain trusted relationships
  • Support partners with technical input on complex issues (residency, domicile, remittances, capital taxes)
  • Manage HMRC correspondence and enquiries, assisting partners on complex matters
  • Coordinate with other service lines to deliver integrated client solutions
  • Identify opportunities for additional advisory services and escalate appropriately
  • Budget, monitor recoveries and assist invoicing for client portfolios
  • Delegate work to juniors and review for accuracy and consistency
  • Coach, train and develop junior staff in the team
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of tax compliance processes and internal best practices

Key requirements

  • CTA qualified
  • ideally ACA or ACCA qualification
  • significant experience in UK private client tax compliance (including personal tax, trust and estate)
  • experience providing written tax advice
  • ability to supervise and develop junior staff
