Overview

You join G-Research in London as a Research Engineer, partnering with researchers to translate ideas into scalable, production-grade systems. You’ll work on trading, modelling, simulation, and research tooling, using C# and Python in our data-centre environment. The role blends high-impact software engineering with financial research, enabling large-scale experiments and ML-driven insights. You will shape platforms that accelerate discovery and bridge research and production, contributing to a mission of predicting the future in markets.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, well-engineered software with strong architectural awareness
  • Take end-to-end ownership of solutions from concept to delivery
  • Collaborate with researchers and other stakeholders to realise ideas in production
  • Optimize performance and scalability of trading and research systems
  • Contribute to back-testing and research tooling to validate strategies
  • Stay ahead of new technologies and drive their adoption
  • Communicate clearly across audiences and adapt style as needed
  • Support open collaboration and relationships across the business

Key requirements

  • Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures and software fundamentals
  • Interest in quantitative finance and engineering within it
  • Ability to prioritise and deliver measurable business impact
