Overview
In this role you will manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle for a defined NHS portfolio, ensuring mobilised, compliant and value-for-money contracts. You’ll work closely with clinical and procurement stakeholders to monitor performance, manage risks, and coordinate contract variations and renewals. You will contribute to standardising contract management and reporting across the partnership, driving governance and continuous improvement in a large health system.

Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end contract lifecycle for a defined portfolio across NHS partner organisations
- Draft, negotiate and execute contractual agreements and governance papers
- Ensure post-award governance, compliance and risk mitigation
- Coordinate contract review activities with multi-stakeholder groups
- Monitor KPIs/SLAs and manage risks, issues, changes, and renewals
- Support contract variations, extensions and due process
- Promote continuous improvement and standardised contract management
- Protect financial and legal interests while supporting safe, value-for-money service delivery
Key requirements
- Significant experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts in a complex organisation (NHS/public sector preferred)
- Experience managing contracts post-award including governance, KPIs, change control, variations and renewals
- Understanding of commercial and legal risk in contracting and mitigation/escalation approaches
- Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and maintaining audit trails
- Experience using contract management or document management systems
- Strong drafting and written communication skills; clear contractual documentation and governance papers
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills with suppliers and senior stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; ability to identify risks and mitigations
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines; organised in a dynamic environment
- Competent IT skills (Microsoft Office) and secure handling of information
