Overview

As Associate Director, Structural Engineer, you will shape water infrastructure projects across the UK, leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering robust structural solutions. You’ll drive technical design quality, mentor colleagues, and foster strong client partnerships. You’ll work on challenging sites—from below-ground pumping stations to large concrete structures—advancing AMP8 programs and sustainable water networks. Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design of projects and mentor team members
• Oversee detailed design activities and produce or review drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports
• Develop robust structural solutions for diverse, complex challenges
• Interface with other design disciplines and maintain strong client relationships
• Ensure quality control and sign-off of deliverables with compliance and efficiency
• Identify and implement innovative ideas and best practices in structural design

Key requirements

• Degree or equivalent in civil and structural engineering
• Membership or progression toward membership of ICE or IStructE
• Experience delivering robust, efficient structural solutions in multidisciplinary environments
• Experience in structural design to applicable standards and specifications
• Strong collaboration and coordination with teams, clients, and stakeholders
• Passion for delivering technical solutions and leading technical teams
