Overview

As a Corporate Banking Associate for Metals & Mining, you support senior bankers to deliver bespoke capital structure advice and corporate finance solutions to top clients. You will help originate and execute episodic and strategic financings, while leveraging Citi’s product platform across markets and Treasury services. You’ll build deep client relationships and contribute to market-leading industry content, with significant cross-team collaboration. Your work drives revenue, optimizes capital deployment, and manages risk in a global, fee-based environment. This role blends technical finance, client coverage, and team leadership to shape financing outcomes in the M&M sector.

Responsibilities

  • Support relationship management for Global M&M clients and sector expertise
  • Participate in deal teams for origination and execution of episodic and corporate finance transactions
  • Stay informed on market trends, best practices, and competitive landscape
  • Conduct risk assessment and credit analysis of existing relationships, including financial projections and sensitivity analyses
  • Develop client pitch materials and lead execution of episodic financings while coordinating with regional partners
  • Assist with cash management, trading, FX, debt and equity capital markets activities
  • Analyze filings, reports, and business plans to produce strategic/financial insights

Key requirements

  • Strong experience in corporate banking, financing, or capital markets/investment banking
  • Experience in Metals & Mining industry
  • Corporate finance mindset with understanding of capital structure drivers
  • Credit skills with experience executing episodic transactions
  • Quantitative, accounting and financial modelling skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Bachelor degree; MBA or Master’s in Business preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
