Overview

In this role you will lead and coordinate production activity during the blue night shift, ensuring safe, efficient and on-time output. You will manage staffing, productivity and performance to meet service levels and targets, while upholding quality and safety standards. You’ll walk the floor, oversee handovers, review performance data, and drive continuous improvement with cross-functional collaboration. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-moving food manufacturing environment with a focus on delivering consistent results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and organize all activities within the factory on your shift
  • Assign staff and manage productivity to meet service levels
  • Oversee start-up procedures and shift handovers to balance labour
  • Attend daily meetings and conduct Return to Work interviews
  • Challenge area performance on quality, throughput, and crew size
  • Audit daily technical paperwork and ensure safe, clean packing area
  • Review productivity and losses data to identify improvements
  • Identify training needs and manage delivery of the training
  • Work to safety and quality standards in collaboration with other functions

Key requirements

  • Experience in a production or section management role in food manufacturing
  • Knowledge and experience of continuous improvement
  • Understanding of retailer expectations and how to meet them
  • Strong leadership with ability to motivate and engage a team
