Associate Director – Cost Consultancy – MEP

Overview

In this role you will lead full-cycle cost management for large, complex commissions in manufacturing and technology, including data centres. You will oversee feasibility studies, cost planning, procurement, post-contract cost control, value engineering and life-cycle costing, while interfacing with clients and other consultants. You’ll also contribute to marketing and business development in your sector and lead recruitment within your team. Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies, business cases and procurement reports
• Apply value management at project outset
• Manage estimating and cost planning, including owning and presenting the final cost plan
• Oversee procurement process across all stages
• Manage post-contract cost variances and change control
• Oversee cost checking, valuations, and monthly post-contract cost reports
• Represent the team in meetings and actively participate
• Perform value engineering and life-cycle costing
• Negotiate final accounts
• Act as key interface with client and other consultants
• Support marketing and business development in your sector
• Provide line management and oversee recruitment

Key requirements

• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, sustainability technology and modern methods of construction
• Experience in the manufacturing and technology sector, including advanced manufacturing projects or data centres
• Track record of winning and delivering work for private and public sector property clients
• Knowledge of contracts, estimating, valuations, cost reporting and financial modelling
• Experience in negotiating, influencing and communication across all levels
• Digital savviness, ability to build client relationships and lead high-performing teams in a commercial environment
