Technology Sourcing Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Process & Systems

Overview

In this role you serve as a Subject Matter Expert for core GTS systems within the Logistics Technical Services landscape. You drive system and process changes from concept through implementation, testing and hypercare, collaborating with GTS, GIS and wider teams to improve efficiency and support large-scale transformation. You’ll tackle complex system issues, lead in-life improvements, and help shape how logistics and customer delivery systems operate. This is a small, expert team role with meaningful development opportunities and a clear path to senior SME positions.

Responsibilities

• Act as Subject Matter Expert across core GTS systems, tools and processes
• Deliver system and process change projects from requirements to implementation, testing and hypercare
• Identify and implement improvements to increase business efficiency and capability
• Analyze and resolve complex system issues across multiple platforms
• Drive in-life system improvements and BAU changes based on business priorities
• Collaborate with stakeholders across GTS, GIS and wider business teams to define and deliver solutions
• Translate complex technical issues for non-technical stakeholders
• Contribute to major projects impacting logistics, systems integration and customer delivery programmes
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support innovation across systems and processes

Key requirements

• Strong technical understanding of systems and tools, with SAP (WM, SD, MM) or similar platforms
• Typically 3+ years in a systems, SME, or technical change role
• Excellent stakeholder management skills across multiple business areas
• Strong problem-solving ability to diagnose and resolve complex system issues
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills to simplify technical topics for a wider audience
• Understanding of logistics, sales and purchasing process dependencies
