Linux Engineering Manager – Tier 1 HFT

Overview

As Linux Engineer Manager, you lead a growing team of Linux engineers while remaining hands-on to drive platform improvements powering production trading systems. You will foster cross-team partnerships and optimize service delivery in a fast-paced quant trading environment. You shape technical strategy, mentor engineers, and tackle OS and systems programming challenges at scale. Responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership and mentorship to a growing team of Linux Engineers
• Balance hands-on technical contributions with progressing into a management role
• Ensure continuous maintenance and improvement of the production trading platform
• Support team members to thrive and excel in their roles
• Build firm-wide partnerships and foster a collaborative environment
• Solve technical challenges across OS fundamentals and systems programming
• Lead large-scale coordination to improve service delivery and team productivity

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
• Strong programming experience and willingness to learn a new language
• Proven experience leading and supporting individuals and teams
• Ability to build strong partnerships across the organization
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills (technical, process, people)
• In-depth knowledge of Linux OS fundamentals
• Proficiency in Unix command line and shell scripting
• Practical experience with modern Linux systems and systems programming concepts
