In this role you will shape Flo’s AI-driven user experiences, building LLM-powered features that personalize content, enable conversational insights, and generate smart push notifications. You’ll work on latency, output quality, and safety in collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver trusted health insights at scale. You’ll explore prompt design, health-domain models, and evaluation tooling within the AI Platform to ensure high-quality outputs. This is a mission-led, product-driven opportunity to advance private, clinically-backed digital health through innovative AI. Responsibilities
- Build and ship LLM-powered features (personalization, in-app journeys, conversational insights, AI-generated push notifications)
- Improve latency and UX through streaming, pregeneration, and inference-time tradeoffs
- Iterate on prompts and model behavior with health-domain models and safety judges
- Enable A/B testing and evaluation gates to measure impact safely
- Contribute to synthetic data and evaluation datasets for feature support
- Support infrastructure work with Databricks, AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD as needed
- Collaborate with Product, Security, Analytics, Medical teams and external partners on pre-release capabilities
Key requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- hands-on building product features backed by LLMs
- experience with at least one of: prompt engineering, LLM evaluation, fine-tuning, model serving
- strong Python and API/SDK experience for LLM calls and structured outputs
- product sensibility with emphasis on latency, tone, and AI output quality
- comfort with Databricks, AWS, Terraform, GitHub Actions
- experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
- familiarity with healthcare, safety-critical AI is a plus unknown
