Overview
As Technical Safety Engineer on a large onshore energy project, you ensure safety and loss prevention through the FEED contractor’s work on the client side. You will review designs, coordinate across disciplines, and support risk analyses to ensure compliance with safety standards. You act as the main client contact for technical queries and help monitor HSE philosophies and subcontractor design quality. Responsibilities
- Monitor technical safety and loss prevention activities of the FEED contractor on behalf of the client
- Review FEED design and documentation for compliance with safety standards
- Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure a coherent safety approach
- Support risk analysis of FEED deliverables
- Act as main client point of contact for technical queries
- Monitor delivery of HSE philosophies
- Check subcontractor design quality against client specifications
- Analyze RAM studies for deviations or anomalies
- Participate in HAZID, design reviews, and model reviews
- Support vendor management and selection during FEED
- Report FEED contractor performance to Engineering Manager
Key requirements
- Degree qualified in relevant discipline
- Chartered status advantageous
- Experience in Technical Safety/Loss Prevention in energy/oil/gas/petrochemicals
- Experience client-side or in a PMC role
