Contract Manager

Overview

As Engineering Manager, you will lead the on-site engineering team responsible for delivering reliable building services across our contract portfolio. You will ensure safe, timely maintenance while maintaining high service standards and strong client relationships. You’ll monitor performance against KPIs, SLAs and budgets, and produce regular operational and financial updates. This role combines leadership with hands-on essential compliance work, offering impact through team development and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the on-site engineering team
• Ensure planned and reactive maintenance is completed safely and on time
• Maintain high service standards and strong client relationships
• Monitor contract performance, KPIs, SLAs, and budgets
• Produce monthly performance reports
• Ensure health & safety and statutory compliance
• Manage subcontractors and review performance
• Support recruitment, training, development, and appraisals of staff
• Identify and manage additional works opportunities
• Attend client meetings and present operational and financial updates
• Promote a positive team culture and continuous improvement

Key requirements

• Experience as Engineering Manager, Contract Manager, or Senior Supervisor
• Strong knowledge of building services and hard facilities management
• Understanding of health & safety legislation and compliance
• Experience managing teams, budgets, and subcontractors
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
• Computer literate and capable of producing reports and presentations
