AI Workplace Senior Engineer (Secure Microsoft 365 Collaboration and AI)

Overview

In this role you enable AI-driven collaboration on Microsoft 365, helping clients deploy and govern secure, AI-enabled environments. You will lead SharePoint Online and Copilot implementations, drive migrations, and shape governance and security strategies. You’ll partner with IT, security, and business stakeholders to deliver impactful, compliant solutions and upskill clients through workshops and ongoing support. This is a client-facing role in a boutique, growth-focused consultancy that values innovation and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy 365 collaboration solutions with Copilot and AI agents
• Lead migrations from legacy platforms to Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online
• Design advanced SharePoint Online sites and custom solutions with subject-matter expert agents
• Configure Microsoft Purview for data protection, risk management, and compliance
• Implement governance for SharePoint Online, including retention, sensitivity labels, and external sharing
• Advise on AI governance policies, including Copilot licensing and responsible AI usage
• Provide technical ownership and align solutions with organizational goals and regulatory requirements
• Deliver workshops, training, and ongoing support to drive user adoption of AI and collaboration tools
• Stay current with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and AI developments and contribute to internal knowledge sharing

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field
• 8+ years in SharePoint development, Power Platform, and Microsoft 365 security/compliance
• Proven expertise in deploying and governing Purview, SharePoint Online, Power Platform, Power BI Desktop, Defender for O365 and Cloud App Security
• Deep technical knowledge of Microsoft 365 including Entra ID (Azure AD) and Active Directory
• Experience with cross-tenant migration, automation and multi-tenant environments
• Proficiency in PowerShell, PnP, Python, JavaScript, C#, JSON, Power Query (DAX), REST APIs and GraphQL
• Databases: Microsoft Dataverse, Microsoft SQL, MySQL; experience with AI-driven data analytics
• Strong understanding of AI governance, compliance, and responsible AI practices
