Inzpire – Systems Engineer (Requirements & Test)

Overview

In this role you will support the development of bespoke aviation IT products within the Mission Systems Team. You will operate in an Agile environment as part of a multidisciplinary Scrum team, focusing on deriving requirements and creating test artefacts to high standards. The role combines systems engineering with hands-on test activities to evolve our electronic mapping and mission support solutions. You will work to deliver solid engineering discipline across sprints while improving processes and supporting product delivery. This is a chance to shape critical defence technology and collaborate with specialists in a fast-growing organisation.

Responsibilities

• Derive software and system requirements
• Create software and system test procedures to satisfy requirements
• Assist in designing and implementing product features
• Maintain systems engineering discipline within sprints
• Contribute to systems engineering aspects of product development
• Conduct software and system tests
• Review others’ work for quality
• Drive continuous improvement of processes and procedures
• Support mission systems goals and activities

Key requirements

• Methodical approach to work
• Expert user of modern office applications (Word, Excel)
• Understanding of Requirements, Architecture and Verification concepts for Software and Systems
• Experience with Requirements, Verification, and Configuration Management tools (e.g. IBM Rational DOORS, Azure DevOps)
• Proven experience of developing traceable requirements and design
• Proven experience of developing tests to satisfy requirements
• Understanding of configuration control principles
