Overview
In this role you will help shape the future of flight by developing advanced composite manufacturing processes for current and future wing applications. You’ll operate as part of the GTC technology team, tackling varied research tasks from concept to deployment (TRL1-6) and translating plan-driven work into deliverable results. Your proactive, collaborative approach will drive progress across internal stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams. Responsibilities
- Support delivery of technology development plans and business cases aligned with product strategy
- Plan and execute projects, manage budgets, and contribute to funding proposals
- Lead or support hands-on development activities, testing, data capture, and high-quality documentation
- Coordinate cross-team activities to achieve project objectives and successful delivery
- Engage with internal, customer, and supply chain stakeholders to identify opportunities for technology exploitation
- Promote EH&S standards and contribute to a safe, inclusive, high-performing work environment
Key requirements
- Practical experience of composite manufacturing processes (material prep, layup, tooling, resin processing, cure operations)
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing, development, or laboratory settings with defined processes
- Knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing methods and how process quality affects performance
- Understanding of the product lifecycle from design through in-service support
- Structured, methodical problem-solving with project planning and schedule delivery
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across multidisciplinary teams
- Proactive, self-motivated with ability to own assigned activities and deliver objectives
- Ability to build relationships across internal teams and the aerospace community
- Experience influencing others and mentoring early-career colleagues
