Overview
In this role you will contribute to both clinical services and technical aseptic operations within a state-of-the-art Pharmacy Technical Services Unit. You will work closely with senior colleagues to shape service strategy, oversee pharmacist training, and manage IT systems and professional aspects of the service. You will supervise rotation pharmacists and pre-registration trainees, driving development and change. The role offers opportunities to evolve the service and contribute to a licensed, hospital-based manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Pharmacist and Associate Head in managing and strategically developing the technical services
- Oversee pharmacist roles, training programs, and IT systems within the service
- Supervise rotational pharmacists and pre-registration pharmacists
- Contribute to service evolution and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with specialists and technicians to deliver GMP-compliant aseptic production for in-house and external customers
- Engage in training and leadership activities to upskill the team
Key requirements
- Master’s Degree in Pharmacy
- One year pre-registration training
- Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent)
- Minimum 6 months post-qualification Pharmacy experience
- Minimum 3 months Hospital Pharmacy Technical services experience
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and ability to apply it in practice
- UK Registration as a pharmacist (current)
- Disclosure checks as required by policy
- Sponsorship eligibility for Skilled Worker route (if applicable)
