Overview
In this role you support Severnside Dairy’s automation and maintenance program, driving reliability and continuous improvement. You work with cross-functional teams to align with the maintenance plan, safety standards, and site development initiatives. You will collaborate with central automation teams to uphold standards and develop automation capability on site. Your work helps optimize production performance and asset integrity, contributing to the site’s automation roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement across engineering, facilities and site roadmap activity in line with safety and quality objectives
- Provide specialist electrical and automation support for reactive issues, problem solving and improvement initiatives
- Support minor automation Capex projects and site projects with automation elements, aligned to group standards
- Collaborate with central Automation Development teams to maintain site automation standards, documentation, version control and compliance
- Own and support obsolescence and improvement plans including controls, health checks and remedial actions
- Use site data to identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, quality and reliability
- Coach and train colleagues to build automation knowledge with a focus on health and safety
Key requirements
- Fault-finding in electrical panels and breakdown situations
- PLC programming on Siemens S7 and Allen-Bradley
- SCADA systems experience and INTOUCH application development
- Industrial networking and automation infrastructure knowledge
- Electrical panels, controls and fault diagnosis
- Software documentation, version control and compliance
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences
