Overview

You will play a key role in a market-leading financial services disputes practice, handling high-value, complex matters for major financial institutions. You’ll work within a collaborative team in Bristol, advising on banking litigation, professional negligence, and related disputes while supervising junior colleagues. You’ll contribute to business development and client relationships, and help with know-how development and training. This role offers exposure to national and international clients and a clear path for progression.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload of financial services disputes
  • Advise on complex banking litigation, professional negligence, investment disputes, fraud, regulatory matters and trade finance issues
  • Provide strategic and commercial guidance on contentious matters
  • Supervise and support junior team members
  • Contribute to business development and nurture client relationships
  • Assist with legal updates, know-how development and internal training

Key requirements

  • SRA registered solicitor
  • Experience running a caseload of financial litigation or property litigation
  • Strong understanding of the CPR and litigation process
  • Experience in secured lending litigation, mortgage repossession or title rectification (desirable)
  • Experience supervising junior lawyers or paralegals (advantageous)
  • Excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills
  • Commercial awareness and confidence in client relationship management
