Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead on complex geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects
• Develop ground models, geotechnical assessments, and design deliverables
• Conduct advanced geotechnical analysis for foundations, earth structures and slopes
• Manage project delivery including schedule, cost, quality and risk
• Lead client relationships and support business development to grow accounts
• Plan and oversee ground investigations and data interpretation for design and construction
• Provide coaching and mentorship to engineers and engineering geologists
• Support bidding and tender submissions with technical methodologies and resource planning
• Promote innovation, sustainability and digital delivery across project teams
• Collaborate across disciplines and regions to deliver integrated solutions
• Provide leadership, line management, and succession planning for team development
• Assist senior leaders with strategy, workload planning, and recruitment

Key requirements

• Strong technical background in geotechnical engineering, engineering geology and ground risk management
• Extensive experience in geotechnical design, analysis, and interpretation across sectors
• Proven ability to lead technical delivery and manage project risks
• Strong commercial awareness with project management and fee control experience
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management for client and multidisciplinary teams
• Experience leading ground investigation programs and overseeing construction phases
• Track record in business development and client growth strategies
• Mentoring experience and fostering technical excellence and collaboration
• Chartered status with ICE, Geological Society or progress towards chartership
