Overview
As a Senior Associate in Residential Conveyancing, you will lead high-quality, client-focused property advice across a range of transactions from straightforward to complex high-value matters. You will work within the Residential Conveyancing team of the Private Client and Residential Property division, collaborating with colleagues across disciplines to support growth and exceptional service. You will manage a full caseload, nurture client relationships, and guide junior team members while contributing to the firm’s reputation. Responsibilities
- Deliver technically accurate, commercially sound residential property advice
- Manage a full caseload from instruction to completion
- Take instructions directly from clients and maintain strong relationships
- Manage client expectations and communicate progress clearly
- Prepare and issue invoices in line with billing arrangements
- Ensure compliance with firm standards of client care and risk management
- Supervise and develop junior fee earners and support staff
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team culture
- Identify and develop new work opportunities from existing and prospective clients
- Build and maintain a professional network (agents, lenders)
- Attend networking events and contribute to thought leadership
- Act as an ambassador for the Firm in London and the wider property market
- Ensure compliance with SRA requirements and Solicitors Accounts Rules
- Maintain time recording, billing discipline and fee recovery
- Pursue ongoing professional development and maintain integrity and confidentiality
Key requirements
- Experience in residential conveyancing within a large regional, national or London firm
- Ability to manage a full residential property caseload independently
- Track record of meeting financial and billing targets
- Autonomous work style with appropriate supervisory engagement
- Experience handling complex or high-value matters advantageous
- Law degree (2:1 or above) and LPC or equivalent
- Qualified solicitor with current practising certificate
- Strong training record from a recognised firm
- Strong communication skills with client-facing presence
- Commercially aware, pragmatic and solution-focused
- Highly organized with deadline management
- Strong technical ability in residential conveyancing
- Collaborative team player with proactive approach
- IT proficiency including Microsoft Office and case management systems
