Legal Counsel – Real Estate

Overview

As Legal Counsel, you will support a growing, institutionally-backed real estate platform’s legal team, with a focus on PBSA and BTR asset portfolios. You work closely with the General Counsel to handle asset management, lettings, tenancy issues, and development projects, as well as broader commercial work. You will operate at a senior level, shaping the in-house function and partnering with senior stakeholders to manage risk and enable growth. This role offers meaningful responsibility in a fast-scaling business and the chance to influence how a dynamic real estate platform navigates complex legal matters.

Responsibilities

• Support asset management, lettings and tenancy matters for PBSA and BTR assets
• Handle development projects and related commercial legal work
• Collaborate with General Counsel and senior stakeholders
• Provide pragmatic legal advice across a broad range of issues
• Contribute to shaping and scaling the in-house legal function

Key requirements

• 6–10 years’ PQE
• Strong real estate/property law background
• Experience advising on operational assets, asset management, lettings and tenancy matters
• Exposure to PBSA, BTR or the wider living sector preferred
• Commercial, pragmatic approach and willingness to work across diverse legal issues
