Overview

In this role you will produce timely financial reports and support both statutory and management reporting. You’ll analyse data, prepare reconciliations, and collaborate with teams to deliver clear insights for decision-making. Working in a hybrid setup at SCC, you’ll help ensure compliance with accounting standards while contributing to continuous improvement of reporting processes. You will engage with audits and governance activities, contributing to accurate financial statements and informed business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with UK accounting standards and management reporting requirements.
  • Assist in budgets, forecasts, profitability and variance analysis through analytical reviews.
  • Maintain general ledger integrity and complete reconciliations promptly, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Support internal and external audit processes with documentation and explanations as required.
  • Collaborate with finance and business teams to streamline reporting and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure governance and regulatory compliance with financial reporting standards and company policies.
  • Provide on-request financial analysis for data-driven decision making.
  • Own personal development to expand technical accounting knowledge, systems capability, and analytical confidence.

Key requirements

  • Part Qualified / Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Inquisitive mindset with ability to investigate and correct anomalies.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and financial reporting software.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Presentation and business acumen.
  • Experience with Enterprise-wide ERP toolsets, preferably D365, handling large datasets with multiple financial dimension postings.
