Residential Quantity Surveyor – Fun, Non-Stuffy Architects. London

Overview

In this role you will help build and lead Adara’s new Cost Consultancy service alongside the founder. You will work across development lifecycles, shaping client solutions and expanding the business with autonomy. This is a hybrid, client-facing position at an entrepreneurial architectural practice with a clear growth trajectory. You drive commercial strategy, build relationships and deliver value beyond traditional cost planning.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost plans, feasibility studies and development appraisals
• Provide cost consultancy guidance throughout project lifecycles
• Support procurement, tendering and contractor appointments
• Advise clients on project costs, budgets and commercial strategy
• Build strong relationships with developers, contractors and consultants
• Identify opportunities to expand consultancy services
• Help establish and grow Adara’s Cost Consultancy offering
• Collaborate with the architectural team for joined-up client solutions
• Support business development, networking and referrals
• Contribute to systems, processes and future direction of the service

Key requirements

• Degree-qualified Quantity Surveyor or equivalent
• Consultancy-side QS or Cost Consultancy experience
• Strong understanding of residential development projects
• Excellent commercial awareness and client relationship skills
• Experience preparing cost plans, budgets and procurement advice
• Proactive entrepreneurial mindset
• Confidence when working with developers and project stakeholders
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
