Overview

As a Principal Electrical Design Engineer at RSE, you will lead electrical design activities across UK asset management projects with a strong focus on low-carbon solutions. You’ll drive bids, scoping, and detailed design while ensuring compliance with client specs and regulatory standards. You will mentor EICA engineers, guide project delivery, and contribute to RSE’s Net Zero journey. This role blends technical leadership with strategic influence across multi-disciplinary teams. You’ll work to shape innovative, efficient water treatment and recycling solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead EICA design deliverables for projects and business streams
  • Develop bids and proposals for new projects or strategic frameworks
  • Plan and implement projects with Delivery Management teams
  • Line manage and develop EICA staff
  • Provide technical guidance on EICA matters to project teams and senior management
  • Mentor and develop next generation of EICA engineers
  • Support delivery of RSE’s Net Zero and low-carbon initiatives
  • Engage with clients to discuss intervention requirements

Key requirements

  • Degree/HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Professional Registration with IET, InstMC or similar (IEng, CEng)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Knowledge of British and European design standards
  • Proven management capability across project development, design, construction and commissioning
  • Preconstruction design and cost evaluation experience
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to adapt to changing priorities
