SAP S/4HANA Finance Transformation Associate Manager

Overview

In this Associate Manager role, you drive SAP S/4HANA-enabled finance transformations from discovery to implementation, shaping design and value delivery. You work with cross-functional teams to translate finance objectives into S/4HANA processes across R2R, O2C, P2P and related domains. You guide design choices, infuse AI thinking, mentor junior colleagues, and build strong client partnerships to deliver autonomous, value-led finance outcomes at scale.

Responsibilities

• Deliver S/4HANA-enabled finance transformations from discovery through implementation
• Translate finance objectives into S//4HANA-enabled process designs across R2R, O2C, P2P
• Lead fit-to-standard and design decisions balancing SAP standard practice with client needs
• Apply agentic thinking to design where AI changes how processes run
• Lead smaller workstreams and coach junior colleagues
• Use structured analysis and value-led recommendations for complex problems
• Facilitate workshops with senior finance stakeholders to define future-state processes
• Bridge business and technology by aligning finance agenda with SAP delivery teams
• Build trusted client relationships and manage finance outcomes and value
• Contribute to business development and capability-building across S/4HANA-enabled finance transformation
• Support practice growth via assets, viewpoints and skills progression
• Continue to acquire new skills as the platform and finance agenda evolve

Key requirements

• Proven experience delivering SAP S/4HANA finance transformations with ownership of scope
• Strong functional expertise in finance domains: GL/close/reporting, O2C, P2P, Product Costing & COPA, intercompany accounting
• End-to-end understanding of finance processes and integration with supply chain, sales and procurement
• Hands-on across discovery, envisioning, fit-to-standard, design, testing, deployment and stabilization
• Ability to lead business process re-engineering using S/4HANA to improve outcomes
• Strong knowledge of period-end close, controls and reporting in S/4HANA
• Experience translating finance requirements into functional designs and working with SAP delivery teams
• Credibility with finance leaders; ability to challenge and influence design decisions
• Experience guiding juniors or leading small workstreams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to deliver value-led recommendations
• AI-and-platform fluency; ability to reason about where AI changes processes rather than mere digitisation
• Comfort in ambiguous environments and adaptability to client contexts
• Willingness to travel to client sites
• Experience with intercompany, transfer pricing, tax and treasury interactions with core finance
• Public and private cloud S/4HANA experience
• Hands-on use of AI or agentic tooling in finance processes
• Professional finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience
