Principal Mechanical Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead and coordinate mechanical design for building services across RIBA stages, with a focus on high-performance HVAC solutions for landmark projects. You will act as project lead on selected assignments, engage in client and design team discussions, and manage key client accounts. You’ll ensure designs comply with Building Regulations and CIBSE guidelines while supporting expansion of the Oxford office. This is an opportunity to shape high-profile developments and mentor project teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and coordinate mechanical design across RIBA stages
• Lead for specific projects and coordinate cross-functional teams
• Attend client and design team meetings
• Manage key client accounts and relationships
• Deliver high-performance mechanical building services design for landmark projects
• Ensure Mechanical and HVAC designs meet Building Regulations and CIBSE guidelines

Key requirements

• At least 5 years experience in Mechanical Design Engineering
• Familiar with Building Regulations and CIBSE guidelines
• Experience in client-facing roles
• Experience in high-rise residential and/or district heating projects
• Good commercial awareness
