Overview

In this role, you will lead and support Edinburgh’s Water Team to deliver Scotland’s next generation of water infrastructure. You’ll work across multidisciplinary projects, shaping design to meet client needs and budget constraints while mentoring junior engineers. You’ll engage with clients and partners to drive high-quality outcomes and uphold safety standards. This is a chance to contribute to high-value programmes like SR27 and advance sustainable, net-zero initiatives at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project leadership to deliver high-quality outcomes within budget and schedule
  • Manage design scope and coordinate with wider Edinburgh teams on multidisciplinary projects
  • Lead quality assurance for deliverables ensuring standards and client requirements are met
  • Develop and mentor junior staff to support their professional growth
  • Represent the project team in client, colleague and partner discussions with clear, effective communication
  • Embed a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation

Key requirements

  • BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering (or suitable equivalent)
  • Be professionally qualified or working towards accreditation (e.g., ICE, CIWEM)
  • Experience in water, wastewater and/or flood risk management leading project teams
  • Client-facing project management experience with an understanding of construction and professional services contracts
