Overview
As Territory Manager, you drive share of market growth and brand activations across a UK field territory by executing BAT’s trade and brand plans with retailers. You’ll manage relationships with independents, symbols, wholesalers to secure distribution and visibility, while ensuring stock and planogram compliance. You operate cycle visits, track in-store execution, and optimize trade spend for sell-out impact. You join a collaborative, growth-focused team and contribute to BAT’s mission with cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities
- Own and execute trade and brand marketing activities (distribution, display, dialogue) in the assigned territory
- Plan and conduct regular commercial visits to ensure territory coverage
- Drive visibility through competitive tracking and deployment of visibility plans
- Maintain stock levels and ensure planogram compliance at points of sale
- Manage customer orders and use company tools for merchandising
- Identify growth opportunities and expand coverage beyond current outlets (unconventional channels)
- Execute Trade Coverage Plan and align with Area Sales Manager guidelines
- Manage zone budget for cycle activities and optimize resource allocation
- Engage key partners to boost trade loyalty and support
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety standards and BAT procedures
- Keep outlet databases accurate and up-to-date, sharing updates with central teams
- Support product knowledge dissemination and education of retailers on digital and non-digital tools
- Be adaptable to change in a dynamic business environment
- Identify new opportunities for multicategory growth beyond scheduled activities
Key requirements
- Approximately 0.5 years’ experience in trade marketing or sales
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Negotiation skills and objection handling
- Full product knowledge and understanding of distribution dynamics
- Excellent time and stress management
- Teamwork and relationship management with internal and external stakeholders
- Willingness to travel within the territory
- Good transactional and business English language skills
