Overview

In this role you will lead the sourcing and purchasing for New Product Introduction programmes, coordinating multiple vendors and cross-functional teams from concept to production handover. You enable early supplier engagement, design-for-manufacture, and robust supplier selection to support Safran’s NPI roadmap. You will drive QCD targets while aligning supplier activity with future product roadmaps in an aerospace context. This is a fast-paced opportunity to shape how we scale new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple vendors & projects simultaneously
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and liaise with multiple sites on multi-site programs
  • Coordinate sourcing activity and align commodity strategies with supplier selection and product roadmap
  • Promote and deploy Design for Manufacture with early supplier engagement across NPI phases
  • Challenge design requirements to control scope and prevent over-engineering
  • Create and close RFQ/RFP packages with supplier panels
  • Perform risk analysis to resolve supply issues and meet commitments
  • Negotiate and report on Quality, Cost, Delivery targets and ensure compliance with Safran quality requirements

Key requirements

  • Purchasing/sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Proven negotiation and supplier liaison experience
  • Ability to influence across engineering, design and manufacturing functions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills across functions and seniority
  • Motivation to learn and perform in a fast-paced prototyping environment
  • Experience with metrics and data presentations, strong written and verbal communication
