Overview

As Senior Manager, Licensing Applications you will lead global licensing initiatives to enable Checkout.com’s growth. You’ll own end-to-end licensing strategy, coordinating cross-functional teams to secure EMI, PI, and local approvals across markets. You’ll translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable plans and narratives for regulators and leadership. This role sits at the intersection of public policy, regulatory strategy, and corporate expansion, with a strong impact on scale and compliance. You’ll work from London with a global remit and drive speed-to-market through scalable processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead global regulatory licensing roadmap and submission of major license applications (e.g., EMI, PI, local payments, central banks)
  • Own end-to-end application delivery by turning regulatory frameworks into structured project plans and compliant materials
  • Orchestrate cross-functional collaboration between External Affairs, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance, and Product to align roadmaps and regulatory commitments
  • Develop compelling regulator-facing briefs and support leadership during pre-licensing interviews and audits
  • Monitor global regulatory trends and assess feasibility and risks of new market entries with leadership
  • Design scalable governance and playbooks for licensing processes to improve speed-to-market
  • Manage stakeholder communications to ensure operational readiness and regulatory alignment

Key requirements

  • 8+ years in regulatory compliance, legal, government relations, or strategic expansion in FinTech/payments
  • Direct experience drafting and delivering complex financial services licensing applications across multiple jurisdictions
  • Strong project management skills handling large, cross-department deliverables under tight deadlines
  • Regulatory fluency with ability to translate regulatory text into actionable requirements for commercial/product teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for C-suite and regulators
