In this Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer role, you lead mechanical design for fusion and modular nuclear systems, driving reliable, safe solutions that enable net-zero power generation. You’ll work across cross-functional teams to develop key components and oversee risk management and compliance. Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of designs for systems such as Personnel Airlocks, Main Equipment Access Hatch, Fuel Transfer Channel, Piping and Electrical Penetrations, and Specialist Nuclear Doors
  • Conduct DFMEA to identify and mitigate potential failure modes early in design
  • Perform HAZID to identify and document system risks
  • Complete and maintain Human Factors Checklists for ergonomic design decisions
  • Update and manage the project Risk Register
  • Produce Design Packages aligned with requirements, standards, and operations
  • Coordinate interfaces between engineering teams, suppliers, and stakeholders for integration of cooling water systems
  • Prepare detailed Technical Specifications for procurement, fabrication, and installation of cooling water components
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including internal staff and secondees across engineering and project functions
