Overview

As a senior architecture lead, you shape the platform roadmap for enterprise web applications and CMS domains, guiding upgrades, capacity uplift, and system rationalisation. You’ll ensure governance, security, and performance targets are met while partnering with cross-functional teams. The role sits at the heart of VodafoneThree’s digital future, using cloud, microservices, and advanced web technologies to deliver reliable customer experiences. You’ll influence both technical direction and team capability, within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Define an architecture roadmap for multi-year delivery and stack evolution
  • Lead architectural assurance across the delivery lifecycle and secure design sign-off in governance forums
  • Ensure systems meet business SLAs, performance goals, and security guidelines
  • Maintain non-functional requirements (performance, resilience, operability, security)
  • Act as technical and functional point of contact for web apps and CMS domains during releases and incidents
  • Provide direction to solution architects, developers and technical staff
  • Support cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software and build autonomous teams
  • Participate in Architecture & Web Development Guilds and foster cross-team collaboration

Key requirements

  • Understanding of web fundamentals (HTTP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS)
  • Experience designing and integrating enterprise-scale CMS architectures
  • Solid grasp of SOLID OO design principles
  • Experience with enterprise web architectures including Microservices and Micro Frontends
  • Cloud solutions and containerised web app design experience
  • Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and common security patterns
  • Deep knowledge of web infrastructure (CDNs, WAFs, DNS, SSL/TLS)
  • Hands-on experience designing, consuming and governing RESTful APIs
  • Collaborative mindset
