Overview

In this role you drive manufacturing improvements using Best in Class and World Class Manufacturing principles within Raytheon UK’s Glenrothes site. You will work with Integrated Program, Engineering and project teams to address quality and performance issues and to optimise processes. You will use data-driven analyses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions, while supporting NPI and DFM activities. This position offers growth, cross-functional collaboration and the chance to contribute to national security technology.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in regular Manufacturing Engineering sub-team meetings
  • Report and maintain Manufacturing Engineering metrics and track Team KPIs and objectives
  • Use metrics to optimise and improve processes
  • Support Program Cells and broader Engineering community
  • Engage in DFM and manufacturability analyses and reporting
  • Participate in NPI activities and reporting
  • Identify and expedite solutions for quality or performance issues
  • Identify training needs to improve team performance
  • Lead or participate in SPC-based issue identification and preventive actions
  • Contribute to process FMEA development, review and risk mitigation

Key requirements

  • HND in Manufacturing / Production Engineering or related subject
  • High performance, self-starter
  • Strong knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes across technologies
  • Analytical engineer capable of data-driven problem solving
  • Team player with ownership of problems
  • Demonstrated improvements in Production Programs’ effectiveness and optimisation
  • Understanding of Equipment / Machine SPC for issue prevention
  • Experience with process FMEA development and risk mitigation
  • Experience across multiple manufacturing platforms
  • Knowledge of 6 Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
  • Proven technical presentation skills
