Overview

In this role you will advise on a broad range of rural property matters for high‑quality clients. You will work within the Landed Estates and Agriculture team, collaborating with Private Client and Tax specialists to deliver joined‑up advice. You will manage transactions with autonomy, supervise junior colleagues, and help grow the practice through relationships, articles, and events. The position offers clear long‑term progression toward senior leadership and partnership. This is an opportunity to shape sophisticated rural property matters in a leading central London firm.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on acquisitions and disposals of agricultural land and estates
  • Handle easements, first registrations, and ongoing estate management
  • Counsel on agricultural tenancies, planning, succession, and generational change
  • Assist reorganisations of farming businesses and diversification including renewable energy and natural capital
  • Collaborate with Private Client and Tax teams for integrated client advice
  • Manage transactions with autonomy and supervise junior team members
  • Develop the firm’s Landed Estates practice through client relationship management, networking, articles, and events

Key requirements

  • 3+ years’ PQE in rural or agricultural property
  • strong technical knowledge in rural property transactions
  • ability to manage transactions autonomously
  • experience or interest in agricultural tenancies, unregistered land, manorial rights, environmental policy
  • excellent interpersonal and client management skills
  • ability to supervise and support junior colleagues
