Overview
In this permanent role, you will lead education refurbishment projects as the No.1 Site Manager for a long-established main contractor in Oxford. You’ll oversee work in occupied buildings, focusing on projects up to £1m, while coordinating a field team within the Special Works Division. You’ll ensure safety, quality, and progress across multiple sectors, contributing to a steady pipeline of refurbishment work. This is an opportunity to apply your carpentry background and on-site leadership to deliver complex, occupied-site projects with impact.

Responsibilities
- Lead on-site delivery for education refurbishment projects
- Coordinate activities on occupied buildings and ensure minimal disruption
- Manage safety, quality, schedule, and budget on projects up to £1m
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Ensure compliance with CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid requirements
- Support planning and handovers for project milestones
Key requirements
- Experience as No.1 Site Manager for a reputable Main Contractor
- Track record on education refurbishment projects up to £1m
- Familiar with working in occupied buildings
- Carpentry background (preferable)
- CSCS, SMSTS, First Aid
- Able to commute to Oxford daily
