Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Building Services

Overview

Ambitious Electrical Design Engineer sought to join a fast-growing London M&E consultancy working on data centre and building services projects. You will deliver electrical designs from concept to completion within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with clients, architects, and engineers. The role offers exposure to technically challenging projects and a path to leadership as the company grows. You will shape layouts, specs, and calculations while ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical building services systems across Data Centres, Commercial, Residential, and Education sectors
• Produce electrical calculations, specifications and technical reports
• Design LV distribution, lighting, small power, emergency lighting, fire alarms and related systems
• Coordinate designs with mechanical, architectural, and structural engineers using BIM/Revit where appropriate
• Attend client meetings, site visits and design team meetings
• Support project delivery through all RIBA stages
• Ensure designs comply with current British Standards and Building Regulations

Key requirements

• 3-5 years’ experience as an Electrical Design Engineer within a Building Services consultancy
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
• Experience with Data Centres
• Proficiency in Amtech, Dialux and AutoCAD; Revit experience highly desirable
• Strong communication skills with client and project team liaison
• Able to attend project sites across London
• Proactive mindset with ambition to progress into a senior or leadership position
