Overview
As Metrology Engineer in our Bristol team, you ensure the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of test and measurement equipment in a highly regulated environment. You will perform calibration activities, maintain records, and support measurement assurance across diverse projects, including military programmes. You contribute to traceability of measurements to national and international standards and support audits and continuous improvement. This role offers exposure to advanced instrumentation, cross-functional collaboration, and the chance to influence quality and compliance in critical systems.

Responsibilities
- Perform calibration and metrology activities on test and measurement equipment
- Maintain calibration records and ensure compliance with standards and procedures
- Support test environments through verification, maintenance, and management of instrumentation
- Investigate measurement discrepancies and implement corrective actions
- Ensure traceability of measurements to national and international standards
- Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives related to calibration and metrology processes
Key requirements
- Proven experience in calibration and metrology engineering
- Strong understanding of measurement principles and uncertainty analysis
- Experience with test equipment and instrumentation
- Knowledge of calibration processes for mechanical and/or electrical measurement systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work within highly regulated engineering environments
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience
- Between 4 and 10 years of experience in calibration, metrology, or test engineering
- Experience working with measurement systems and laboratory or test environments
