Overview

In this role you lead complex engineering tasks on government projects, guiding technical decisions and mentoring teams. You’ll manage estimates, schedules, and procurement activities while ensuring compliance with standards. You’ll contribute to solutions across DoD facilities and O&M environments, and help maintain Fluor’s competitive edge through expert technical delivery. The role combines hands-on engineering with people development and cross-functional collaboration to build value for clients and the company.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review estimates and schedules, including workforce forecasts
  • Track material quantities and provide forecasts
  • Develop and review design specifications and criteria
  • Participate in equipment/material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting
  • Perform calculations and specify equipment for complex engineering tasks
  • Mentor staff, develop training materials, and provide performance feedback
  • Analyze problems and recommend solutions aligned with project objectives
  • Work in metric and imperial measurements
  • Document complex as-built buildings and office plans
  • Compile and report weekly activities
  • Maintain and update department webpages

Key requirements

  • Accredited four-year degree in engineering and four years of related experience
  • Effective communication with diverse audiences
  • Job-related technical knowledge
  • Ability to learn applicable statutes and guidelines
  • Attention to detail and time management
  • Professional registration (preferred)
  • Advanced knowledge of discipline codes, materials costs
  • Practical field experience
  • Intermediate computer skills (word processing, email, spreadsheets, presentations)
