24-6 Production Support Engineer

Overview

In this role you support production by diagnosing and fixing breakdowns, performing planned preventive maintenance, and driving improvements to boost performance and capacity. You will implement machine modifications and lead equipment-based projects within a collaborative, safety-conscious environment. The role fits into Perrigo’s drive for continuous improvement and cost efficiency on the production floor. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to keep lines running and contribute to the company’s One Perrigo culture.

Responsibilities

• Rectify breakdowns and repair machinery to minimize downtime
• Execute and document planned preventive maintenance (PPM) according to schedule
• Identify and implement improvement opportunities to optimise machine and line performance
• Lead machine modifications and equipment-based projects to enhance capacity
• Interface with suppliers and manage associated costs
• Reduce response and completion times without compromising quality
• Act as Patrol Engineer and promote a positive team attitude
• Share knowledge and train line trainers on machine systems where needed
• Maintain high safety awareness and ensure safe systems of work
• Perform other duties to support Perrigo as required

Key requirements

• Recognised engineering apprenticeship
• Experience in a production environment
• Ability to fault find and repair complex mechanical systems
• Knowledge of pneumatic systems for fault finding and repair
• Effective communication with production teams about machine issues
• Expert knowledge of machinery in the designated factory area
• Up-to-date training on safe operation of lifting equipment
