Overview
In this role you will strategically manage the procurement of electronic components, ensuring on-time delivery, quality, and value while mitigating risk and supporting sustainability. You’ll work within the GMSD procurement team across Woodchester or Miskin, liaising with global suppliers to optimise costs and supply continuity. The position blends negotiation, supplier development, and cross-functional collaboration to strengthen our manufacturing service. Responsibilities
- Manage and control supply chains to meet production requirements and timescales with high service levels
- Negotiate supplier pricing and manage costs to meet targets
- Control stock and planning parameters in ERP ensuring safe stock levels aligned to risk
- Identify and manage risk proactively
- Lead commercial negotiations and contract management with key suppliers
- Monitor supplier performance and implement improvements as needed
- Develop sourcing strategies aligned with technical and commercial needs
- Coordinate internally and externally to resolve quality and supply issues
Key requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ procurement experience in a manufacturing environment with strategic commodity purchasing
- Effective communication at all levels internally and externally
- Strong problem solving and supplier management skills
- Commercial acumen with data analysis and decision-making
- Degree, CIPS qualifications, completed Modern Apprenticeship, or demonstrable time served
- Skilled in MRP/ERP, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
