Overview

As Principal Systems Engineer, you will drive the development of military land and aerospace systems. You’ll work within a multi-disciplinary team to translate stakeholder needs into realizable requirements and robust architectures. You’ll oversee verification, documentation, and lifecycle changes, shaping safe, mission-critical solutions. This role offers exposure to a diverse product portfolio and a culture that values initiative, collaboration, and technical excellence. You will contribute to high-impact projects at the intersection of engineering and defence technology.

Responsibilities

  • Develop systems-engineered solutions for military lands and aerospace products
  • Elicit stakeholder requirements through customer discussions
  • Derive product requirements from customer needs
  • Perform requirements-based verification and validation (manual and scripted)
  • Produce interface control documents and system design documents
  • Control and manage engineering changes across the development lifecycle
  • Prepare technical proposals including estimations and presentations
  • Provide technical oversight and mentoring to other Systems Engineers

Key requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of Systems Engineering experience
  • Engineering or science degree (preferably in systems engineering)
  • Ability to operate in a multi-discipline team
  • Microsoft Office (Visio, Excel, Word)
  • Knowledge of Configuration Management Tools
  • Independent working style with initiative
  • Attention to detail in requirements and documentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in a multi-disciplinary context
  • Systems engineering discipline knowledge
  • DO-178/DO-254 or IEC61508 awareness (desirable)
  • MATLAB and Simulink familiarity (desirable)
