Overview

In this role you will support the General Counsel by directing international employment law across markets, advising senior leaders and C-suite on sensitive people-related matters. You will partner with the global People Team to align on best practices, contracts, and compliance while shaping cross-border strategies. You’ll handle pensions, immigration, and mobility issues, managing external counsel and risk. The position combines legal expertise with strategic stakeholder engagement in a dynamic, globally focused business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead non-US employment law matters and advise on cross-border policies
  • Manage employment contracts, templates, disciplinary and redundancy processes
  • Oversee global mobility and visa/immigration advice
  • Supervise employment litigation and investigations; liaise with auditors and regulators
  • Partner with People Team to address workforce representation and inclusion issues
  • Manage external employment counsel and related budget across markets
  • Provide training on employment law and compliance to colleagues
  • Monitor changes in local law affecting policies and procedures
  • Support whistleblowing processes and governance in collaboration with General Counsel
  • Contribute to culture, strategy, and operations of the global Legal & People function
  • Coordinate with US teams on cross-border matters and ensure joined-up approaches
  • Report People compliance matters to ELT, shareholders, and the Board
  • Lead on international pension law advice and related compliance

Key requirements

  • Qualified legal professional in the UK and/or EU
  • Significant experience in international employment law and litigation
  • In-house experience advising a global business
  • Experience with AI tools and advising on AI deployment in workplace contexts
  • Experience handling international employment issues, including consultations and labour relations
  • Experience with internal investigations and disciplinary matters
  • Experience with company compliance policies
  • UK pensions experience preferred
