Senior Cost Manager – Health, Science & Education

Overview

As a Senior Cost Manager, you will lead end-to-end cost management for health-sector projects in London, from feasibility to handover. You will work within the Health, Science & Education team, collaborating with clients and specialists to drive value on high-profile schemes, including hospitals. Your role combines strategic cost planning, procurement oversight, and post-contract cost control to meet objectives. Responsibilities

• Estimating and cost planning, including final cost plan presentation
• Tendering and procurement management across stages of pre-qualification to contract documents
• Manage post-contract cost variances and change control
• Lead cost checks and valuations on larger projects
• Produce monthly post-contract cost reports for clients
• Contribute to value engineering and lifecycle costing
• Negotiate and settle final accounts
• Interface with client and other consultants throughout all project stages
• Mentor junior cost management team members

Key requirements

• Healthcare and/or education sector knowledge
• Ability to lead clients from feasibility to completion
• Experience with Two-Stage tendering
• Experience with JCT and NEC contracts
• Client-facing stakeholder engagement
• Knowledge of risks and opportunities in public-sector healthcare
• Post-contract cost reporting experience
• Procurement process management from pre-qualification to contract
• Negotiation and final accounts experience
• Contract administration, value engineering and lifecycle costing
• Experience using CostX or similar measurement software
