Responsibilities
- Provide senior technical and design leadership across major Building Engineering projects with focus on quality, schedule, budget and client outcomes
- Lead project teams and ensure successful delivery of a portfolio of projects
- Engage directly with clients to understand needs and offer practical engineering and design solutions
- Lead design management, technical reviews and cross-disciplinary project delivery
- Support business development through client engagement, proposals, tender interviews and presentations
- Identify opportunities to grow services with existing and new clients across locations
- Provide commercial oversight including budgets, pricing, contracts and project financial performance
- Build and develop high-performing teams and support technical development and career progression
- Collaborate with senior leaders to support resource planning and growth of Building Engineering capability
- Represent AECOM with clients, industry partners and the engineering community
Key requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Fire/Hydraulics Engineering (ideally with 20+ years in building services)
- Chartered Engineer and relevant registrations
- Extensive building engineering experience with complex multidisciplinary projects
- Experience in senior technical, project or business leadership
- Strong commercial understanding: budgets, programmes, contracts and financial performance
- Proven client engagement, commercial management and negotiations, and business development
- Experience leading and developing high-performing project teams
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills
- Established network within the Australian building engineering and property market (advantageous)
