Audit Manager – Central London

Overview

In this role you will lead and oversee end-to-end audit engagements for charity and not-for-profit clients, ensuring delivery within budget and schedule. You will nurture strong client relationships from initial contact through tendering, ongoing fees, and expansion of work. You will coach and develop junior staff, including trainees, while contributing to technical updates and client training. The position sits in a collaborative audit team and emphasizes strategic thinking, cross-functional interaction, and effective communication with non-financial stakeholders. This is a hands-on leadership role within a values-driven firm that supports professional growth and client impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end client audits within agreed budgets and timelines
• Develop and maintain client relationships from tendering to retention and expansion
• Coach and develop junior staff, including trainees, and participate in training
• Contribute to technical updates, client training, and firm development
• Manage a portfolio of clients and participate in new client tendering processes

Key requirements

• Chartered Accountant with an audit qualification
• Experience managing audits across varying turnover and complexity
• Experience interacting with FD/CEO level stakeholders
• Ability to manage a portfolio of clients and participate in tendering
• Experience coaching junior colleagues and trainees (ACA)
• Deep knowledge of charity/not-for-profit sector
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with non-financial audiences
• Comfortable in a matrix management structure and able to manage multiple deadlines
