Senior Building Surveyor – Building Surveying Job in Romford, London – 55,000 – 70,000

Overview

In this role you will join a Romford-based building consultancy to lead professional and project duties across private and public sectors. You will deliver condition surveys, remedial works, and feasibility assessments while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team. The position offers hybrid working, a competitive salary, and opportunities to contribute to asset management and dilapidations projects. You will engage with clients to shape refurbishment strategies and ensure compliant project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Deliver full range of project and professional duties across residential, commercial, retail, education, leisure, industrial and healthcare refurbishments
• Prepare tender documents and provide post-contract administration
• Manage contracts such as JCT Intermediate and JCT Design and Build
• Record site information and produce concise written reports
• Conduct site surveys and reporting (Schedules of Condition, Defect Diagnosis)
• Prepare condition surveys for planned maintenance and asset expenditure planning
• Produce tender documents for refurbishment and alteration works
• Party wall surveying
• Handle dilapidations and prepare specifications and schedules
• Provide feasibility estimates

Key requirements

• 5+ years’ experience
• MRICS or MCIOB or relevant experience
• Consultancy background essential
• Excellent client facing skills
• Refurbishment and/or remedial project management experience
• Professional services experience (condition surveys and defect diagnosis)
• Fire Risk Assessment advantageous (training available)
