Overview
As Planning Manager you will support the Programme Manager to deliver strategic aims through effective planning and assurance across a multi-project programme. You’ll lead planning across projects typically valued at 100-150m, ensuring targets are met and schedules stay current. You will develop and mentor the planning team, maintain accurate schedules, and integrate planning with cost, risk, and safety objectives. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the programme planning team across multiple projects to achieve business outcomes
- Develop and maintain schedules throughout the project lifecycle
- Assess contract programmes and delay events; perform time impact analyses
- Coordinate schedule reporting and classification for tender and actual durations in the estimating database
- Support cost reviews and alignment of cost plan with programme
- Assist Monthly Cost Forecasts using cost plans and schedules
- Manage Programme/Project Risk and Opportunity Register to identify efficiencies
- Promote world-class health, safety and environmental standards across the programme
Key requirements
- Degree or equivalent in construction or business-related field (or higher)
- Membership of a professional body such as RICS
- Typically 10 years’ experience as a senior planner on multi-year programmes (>50m)
- 3–5 years’ experience leading small teams (2–3 people)
- Significant experience with Primavera P6
- Experience planning multiple interfacing, concurrent projects
- Commercial and financial awareness; knowledge of NEC contracts desirable
- Strong leadership, influencing, and communication skills
- Ability to articulate complex ideas to senior stakeholders
- Knowledge of airport environments desirable
