Overview

In this role you lead water infrastructure projects for clients in Alberta and Western Canada, guiding multidisciplinary teams from conception to delivery. You drive project success through scope, schedule, and budget management while coordinating with clients, agencies, and stakeholders. You will mentor staff, contribute to business development, and ensure quality in technical reporting. This role offers the chance to shape water conveyance, treatment, and flood mitigation projects with a focus on sustainable, community impact.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee delivery of multi-disciplinary projects of varying size and complexity
  • Lead assessment/design work and multi-disciplinary report/proposal writing
  • Set project priorities, defining scope, budgets, and schedules
  • Act as primary client/agency/stakeholder contact to determine requirements and secure approvals
  • Monitor financial performance and on-time delivery
  • Conduct QA/QC reviews and evaluate completed work
  • Mentor junior and intermediate staff to grow PM and technical skills
  • Manage client expectations and relationships
  • Support marketing and business development, including proposals and client interviews
  • Account management and quality management reviews
  • Develop and sustain a high-performance team through mentorship
  • Attend training for ongoing professional development

Key requirements

  • Proven project management experience on water infrastructure projects
  • Experience with provincial, municipal, irrigation, community development, mining and industrial clients in Alberta and Western Canada
  • Excellent communication, written, and presentation skills
  • Understanding of all phases of multi-disciplinary delivery for water-related projects
  • Collaborative leadership of multi-disciplinary teams
  • Technical experience in civil, water resources or water treatment engineering
  • Advanced understanding of project management concepts; PMP is an asset
  • Experience with Microsoft Office; Microsoft Project is an asset
  • Strong technical writing for reports, contracts, proposals, and communications
  • Ability to communicate technical material to varied audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or equivalent (see Education)
  • Eligible to be licensed as a P.Eng. with APEGA in Alberta
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Minimum 15 years of consulting engineering experience
